Description

Skittlez doll!

I'm so, so proud of this...there were a lot of firsts here. This is my first finished doll, my first time doing doll hair (it took FOREVER), my first freehand crochet design AND my first colorwork. I'm pretty sure my colorwork technique isn't technically correct, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. (Normal people would start with something easy like horizontal stripes...NOT ME. REBEL ALL THE WAY.)

I did put a mouth on her, but it took away from the cute, so I decided to leave it without. My only real complaint is how fluffy her hair is. But overall, I'm very, very pleased with this. I have tentative plans for a Sedna (once I find my gray fun fur) and MAYBE a Vidu, if I can find a good skin tone yarn for him...right now the options are Skittlez's skin, Skittlez's dress, and the super dark brown I used for my other in progress doll of my own character. We'll see what happens. (I actually meant to do Sedna first, but then my yarn hid somewhere and I got impatient with trying to find it...)

More picture (including with TG Volume 2 and my pug-Skittlez charm and pre-haircut) at my Ravelry project page. Now I just need to figure out what to DO with her now that she's done...XD

Skittlez is from :iconblix-it:'s awesome webcomic Toilet Genie.

<3 This is really super adorable. It really is. I won't claim to have any knowledge of crochet, so I can't comment on its technical skill. XD BUT YOU DID IT, IT LOOKS LIKE SKITTLEZ. I think that's an accomplishment.

I think a Sedna would be really darling! If only because so much of him would be covered in that time consuming yarn hair, being that he is, in either form, one giant puff.
